Brrr And The City! Sarah Jessica Parker shivers as she films her new television show Divorce

Spring may be just around the corner, but things are still a little icy on the East Coast.

Sarah Jessica Parker was feeling the cold as she filmed a scene for her yet-to-air television offering Divorce.

The 50-year-old did her best to rug up against the cold on a rather chilly New York Monday.

Jessica's character, a women whose husband is having an affair, was dressed in layers but the star still felt the bitter chill in their air.

For her scene the Sex And The City star was dressed in a pair of loose fit straight leg denim trousers with a rust coloured patterned shirt and a navy blazer with blue trim.

The star's costume also included some solid lace up boots and a green cross body handbag.

However, Sarah Jessica's layers were not enough for her so as soon as the director yelled 'cut' she threw on a giant padded coat.

As she hauled the large warm jacket on, the actress visibly shivered.

In the scene, Sarah Jessica goes to an estate sale and she picks out a bookcase which she and her co-star have to haul to her car as the cameras rolled.

The HBO series also co-stars Thomas Haden Church, 55, who plays her husband and Molly Shannon, 51, who plays her single friend.

Sarah, who is also executive producer of Divorce, admitted to Yahoo Style that she initially didn't think she would ever be able to cast Thomas, even though he was her first choice.

'Thomas Haden Church was my first choice to play the husband character, and I never thought he would do it because he hasn’t worked for so many years in television, so a lot of elements just came together.' 

As to why do something on the subject of divorce, she said: 'You know, the particular landscape of divorce and the story of a marriage is really interesting to me because it’s so complicated.'
