On Tuesday, Bella's mother Yolanda Hadid revealed how the the nationally-ranked equestrian's Lyme disease diagnosis in 2013 effectively killed her Olympic dreams.

'Bella wanted to be a professional horseback rider, and her dream was to go to the Olympics,' the Dutch 52-year-old said on The Dr. Oz Show.

'She's been on a horse every day of her life since she was two years old. She jumped 4ft5in courses and you need to have a very sharp brain in order to do the calculations. And she started making mistakes.'

Yolanda, Bella, and her younger brother Anwar all suffer from the tick-borne illness and remain under the care of Dr. Detrich Klinghardt.

'My focus, my energy goes to trying to get well, trying to make a difference, trying to find a cure for my children,' Foster vowed.
