According to the gossip site, she was originally going to attempt to paint Guy, 47, in a bad light and 'trash' his parenting skills, as she believes he is too liberal with Rocco.

But now it's thought she is going to dial back on her more strict, 'controlling' ways - as she has been claimed to be by sources - and instead profess her 'undying love' for her boy through social media.

Rather than attempting to force her son to return to her with a judge's order, she is hopeful that her constant displays of motherly affection will encourage him to go back.

An insider told the site: 'She always has to be right. It's her nature. She and Guy have disagreed on every [child rearing] decision they talk about, and it's made her feel like he's a bad parent.'

Two weeks ago she shared a nostalgic snapshot of herself with baby Rocco, reminiscing about happier times.

Along with the snap, she wrote, 'Tu me manque............(sic)', translated as 'I miss you'.

While some of her French fans were quick to point out that she had spelt 'manques' wrong, most of her followers chimed in with messages of love and support, reassuring the star that Rocco would no doubt change his mind.

'Be strong he will come back, he is just a teenager', one posted, while another enthused, 'He will always be your son and you always his mother'.

Rocco is said to have moved in which his father, 47, his model wife Jacqui Ainsley, 34, and their three children after becoming fed up with being on tour with his mother.

He was supposed to spend Christmas with her but did not return home to New York.

Madonna even went to the Manhattan Supreme Court in December to try and force Rocco to come home.

But during the hearing Mr Ritchie's lawyer Eric Buckley said that Rocco had ‘expressed very clearly’ that he did not want to be with her.

One possible source of Rocco’s frustration is that Madonna has posted numerous pictures and videos of him on Instagram that could have caused him embarrassment.

In May she posted one video of him doing a backflip wearing orange underwear with the caption ‘Rocco’s preferred profile #nosausage’.

In an interview in August Madonna said that Rocco did not want to perform on stage with her and would be working backstage on her tour as ‘your mom is not cool’ at his age.

The row has reopened old wounds from her and Guy's divorce after eight years together and put Madonna at the center of a painful and public battle.

Madonna reportedly thinks Guy’s parenting is too lax and is said to have hired private detectives to spy on Rocco, who took pictures of him smoking underage.

Speaking before the hearing, Raoul Felder, a top New York divorce lawyer whose clients have included Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, said that a key factor will be how Rocco presents himself.

He said: ‘Fifteen is an unusual age and Rocco is almost an adult. The court could appoint his own lawyer, it depends on the case.

‘The judge could ask for a meeting with the child and his lawyer in camera, or on their own, where he assesses the maturity of the boy.

‘The judge will be looking at how mature the child is to see how much importance should be placed on what he wants.

‘Ultimately the court goes with what is in the best interests of the child. In this case if he makes it clear he wants to live with his dad then she’s going to have a problem.

Madonna and Mr Ritchie and his wife have taken their dispute to social media and on Christmas Day Mrs Ritchie posted a picture of her wedding day from July with Rocco standing by her side smiling.

Meanwhile Madonna posted pictures from Christmas Day of her daughters Lourdes, 19, and Mercy James, nine, along with son David Banda, 10, who were with her in New York.

The hearing due for today (Wed) has been listed as an amendment to the same case file in the Manhattan Supreme Court under which Madonna and Ritchie agreed the terms of their divorce in 2008

In the wake of the settlement Ritchie reportedly said that he left Madonna because she looked like a ‘granny’ and that her strict diet, Kabbalah religion and obsession with yoga made her hard to live with.

She has said that she felt ‘incarcerated’ by Ritchie and that he was abusive towards her.

The couple had got married in Skibo Castle in Scotland in a high profile ceremony attended by Gwyneth Paltrow, Donatella Versace and Stella McCartney.

Madonna is also the mother to 19-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon, from her previous relationship to Carlos Leon, and adopted children David Banda, 10, and Mercy James, also 10 - David was adopted while she was still married to Guy.

Guy, meanwhile, has gone on to have three children with wife Jacqui Ainsley: sons Rafael, four, and Levi, one, and daughter Rivka, three.
