Zdrale survived the attempted assassination and later testified against her.

The hit was masterminded by another Balkan gangland figure, Darko Elez, who Tosic was said to be dating at the time, the court heard.

The blonde model once appeared on the cover of Serbian Playboy and also took part in a reality TV show.

She was extradited back to Bosnia from Croatia after being linked to five murders and a string of robberies in July.

It was thought the charges stemmed from her association with Elez, another suspected gang boss, who had already been jailed several times for crimes including murder and theft.

Ms Tosic was at the centre of an undercover police investigation dubbed 'Operation Doll' which targeted 32 people in total.

The total value of the robberies according to police is estimated to be worth over £4million.

Since leaving her homeland Bosnia, she has become a wealthy celebrity in her own right while working as a model for publications such as Playboy.

She previously took part in reality shows including the Serbian version of Survivor.

Ms Tosic fled from Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014 where the trial, along with her case, had already started.

The attempted murder of her former lover Djordje Zdrale was one of those charges.
