Ragged Emilia Clarke appears in behind-the-scenes Game Of Thrones sneak peek video... but still no sign of Jon Snow

If you think living in Westeros looks tough, you should try filming it.

A new Game Of Thrones behind-the-scenes video has given a glimpse into what's in store for some of the returning characters.

The five minute video offers a taste what the camera operators have to go though to bring the hit fantasy drama to the screen.

While the majority of the clip is spent with the crew - who are allotted such cool names as Dragon Unit and Wolf Unit - snapshots of some of the scenes being filmed for the upcoming season are littered throughout.

While Fans looking for a glimpse of Jon Snow will be disappointed, the next best thing does make a couple of appearances: Lady Melisandre.

The red priestess, played by Carice Van Houten, is carrying the majority of hopes she will bring Kit Harington's beloved bastard back to life.

She can be seen looking unusually unsettled, while a second brief shot of a monitor shows her being confronted by Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), an uncomfortable meeting for sure, since she burned his little bestie Princess Shireen alive last season.

Meera Reed - Ellie Kendrick - who like Bran Stark hasn't been seen since season four, also makes an appearance in the northern snows, and not holed up in the Three-Eyed Raven's cave where she left off.

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen), and Daario Naharis (Michiel Huisman) also crop up, as does Tom Wlaschiha's Jaqen H'ghar, who stands over a corpse with his face marked and ready for surgery, most likely for hanging up in the Hall Of Faces.

A number of set pieces are also shown being filmed, including a bloody ambush by the Sons Of The Harpy, and a giant Bolton army amassed and ready for battle.

Another shot shows the Dotraki Horde - presumably the one that Emilia Clarke encounters at the close of season five - while the mother of dragons herself is seen disheveled but defiantly striding through a desert.

Meanwhile Vanity Fair has proposed that the two children sword training in a courtyard are none other than Ned Stark and one of his siblings in a Winterfell flashback.

'If a shot is wrong it's more obvious than if a shot is right,' 'A' camera operator Sean Savage points out in the clip, adding that the terrain is the greatest challenge.

'Yes we shoot some very beautiful photographs - or at least I hope we do - but to get the cameras into those positions, to overcome the challenges, and still make it look fantastic and great, that's the big thing,' he explains.

Season six of Game Of Thrones premieres on HBO n April 24.
