Caught in the act: Coronation Street's teens have their New Year's Eve plans ruined by mum

Spoiler alert!

It's not easy being a teenager in love.

And it's even more difficult when your mum scuppers your chance of taking your feelings to the next level.

In a teaser for the New Year's episode of Coronation Street, Rovers barmaid Michelle Connor berates her 17-year-old son Ryan after catching him and his girlfriend in the act.

Not under my roof: Michelle Conner (Kym Marsh) ticks off son Ryan (Ben Thompson) after finding him in a sexy clinch with his girlfriend

Michelle, played by former Hear'Say star Kym Marsh, hits the roof when she walks in on Ryan, played by Ben Thompson, and Sian Powers, played by Sacha Parkinson in a passionate clinch.

According to the spoiler, the young couple were planning to see the New Year in by losing their virginities.

And Michelle is not the only one who is upset by the union, after Sophie Webster, Sian's religious best friend played by Brooke Vincent, is shocked to find out they have slept together.

Coronation Street bosses will no doubt be hoping that this storyline will pull in more viewers, after the soap lost the Christmas rating battle with rival Eastenders.

Whodunnit: 10.9million people tuned into to see Archie Mitchell murdered by an unknown killer.

Corrie was watched by 7.9million people on Christmas Day as character Sally Webster told husband Kevin that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

But it was the whodunnit murder of Archie Mitchell, played by Larry Lamb that proved more popular, with 10.9million viewers tuning in.

Meanwhile, Marsh has revealed that she won't be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother after all.

Fans thought she would be entering the reality show house after a Twitter message, which appeared to be from her, said: 'Finished Corrie for a couple of weeks, now off to get myself a "reality" check.'

But a spokeswoman for ITV yesterday insisted that the mum-of-two would be fulfilling her filming schedule for the soap.

She told the Mail Online: 'There is no truth in it at all. Kym will be back filming with us the first week in January.'

And it emerged that the Twitter account was a fake.
