Just keep swimming: A new trailer for Finding Dory premiered on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday
'Migration is about going home, which is where you’re from,' a stingray tells the children, who ask how they know where to go.
'Instinct. Something deep inside you that feels so familiar you have to listen to it,' he replies, as Dory is shown having a memory.
The voice of Dory's mother is heard promising that she will 'never forget' her child, but Dory asks: 'What if I forget you?'
Then in the present day, we see the fish suddenly remember her parents, proclaiming: 'My mom, my dad, I have a family!'
An epic journey: The film sees the forgetful journey on a quest to find her parents
A memory: Dory is on a school trip to the stingray migration with Nemo when she remembers something
She adds to Nemo's father Marlin: 'I miss them. Do you know what that feels like?'
When he sadly replies that he does, she shouts that they 'better get going' and swims off.
It appears however that it isn't long before Dory gets separated from Marlin and Nemo, as we then see her asking for help from other sea creatures, telling them she is looking for her family.
Meanwhile Marlin goes for a ride with hippie sea turtle Crush, confessing that he thinks he is 'going to be sick'.
'I have a family!': The fish remembers her parents, and realises that she must set off to find them
Scary: At one point, Dory almost gets picked up by a curious child in shallow waters
Going it alone: It seems that the blue tang quickly gets separated from Marlin and Nemo
During the journey Dory runs into an old friend named Destiny, who remembers her forgetful nature fondly.
'It was so much fun because I’d tell you a story and then you’d completely forget about it, and then I’d get to tell you about it over and over again,' the whale shark (voiced by Kaitlin Olson) recounts.
While there are plenty of heart-wrenching scenes in the trailer, and a hold-your-breath moment where Dory is almost picked up by a curious child in shallow water, there are some funny bits too.
Uh oh: At one point, Dory ends up in a kitchen with an ill-tempered octopus named Hank (voiced by Ed O'Neill)
That was a bad idea: The octopus slithers into the sink, where he turns on the garbage disposal

Albert Brooks is returning as the voice of Marlin, while the role of Nemo has been taken over by Hayden Rolence.
Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy will provide the voices of Dory's long-lost parents Jenny and Charlie, and Ty Burrell will voice a whale named Bailey.
A familiar face: The fish runs into a whale shark named Destiny, who turns out to be an old pal
'It was so much fun!': Destiny liked getting to re-tell all of her stories, because Dory would 'completely forget about' them
All-star cast: While Ellen returns as Dory, Idris Elba, Dominic West, Michael Sheen and Diane Keaton are among the stars providing voices for the movie
Meanwhile Willem Dafoe portrays a Moorish idol and Vicki Lewis plays a four-striped Damselfish named Deb (and her sister, which is actually her reflection, named Flo).
Idris Elba, Dominic West and Michael Sheen also provide voices for the movie, but their characters are yet to be revealed.
