It is nigh-on impossible, but see if you can spot the male lion lion hiding somewhere in this picture, taken on the Serengeti Plains.

Take a closer look and you may just see it hiding somewhere in the landscape, surrounded by female members of it's pride.

The picture was captured by photographer Mark Drysdale on the Serengeti, an national park located in northern Tanzania, which extends across the border into south-western Kenya.

Difficult to spot at first glance, the male lion can be seen sitting on top of a rock on the right hand side of the image.

Mr Drysdale, 54, from Johannesburg, South Africa, said: 'Because the area is relatively flat, most lion prides will choose a rocky outcrop to have a lookout for the passing herds of Wildebeest and Zebra.

'The lion pride is spread out over the rock, sleeping in the shade to shield themselves from the heat of the day.

'It's good to find the predators in the vast Plains.'
