When Hollyoaks met Hollywood: Stephanie Waring shares a lunch date with Suits star and unlikely pal Rick Hoffman in London

Worlds collided this week when British soap star Stephanie Waring and US sitcom actor Rick Hoffman reunited over lunch in London.

Snapped leaving The Ivy restaurant in Chelsea, the Hollyoaks actress revealed her unexpected Hollywood connections after the pair hung out together in the capital.

Stephanie, 37, and 45-year-old Suits actor Rick are said to go way back and naturally seemed to pick up where they left off during his recent stay in the UK.

Stephanie, who plays Cindy in the Channel 4 soap, looked glamorous in a fedora hat and a black and white caped coat.

She was wearing trainers to match her counterpart's dressed down look, but hers added a hint of glamour with hidden heels.

Rick arrived in London at the start of last week ahead of the Season 5 finale of his hit American legal drama, in which he portrays slimy lawyer Louis Litt.

Connection: Rick hinted at the connection last week when he replied to one of the star's tweets with a cryptic response about 'what we've been through'

The duo's connection first came to light as Stephanie marked her 37th birthday with a post on Twitter, which said: 'It is officially my birthday right now! Happy Birthday to me!'

Hoffman quoted the tweet and replied: 'When I think abt [sic] how long it's been @ what we've been through, 2 know you've made it this far I am shocked and proud' 

It's not clear how they first forged a relationship or to what Rick refers to when he writes: 'what we've been through'.

Stephanie is mum to two daughters Mia Waring and Lexi Grace Hooper, while Rick became a father for the first time when he welcomed a son with his partner-of-five-years in December 2014.

Rick's star is still rising in the US with roles in Hostel: Part II, The Day After Tomorrow and Conspiracy Theory though he's previously been uncredited as a businessman or security guard for such roles.

His big break came with 2011's Suits, while Manchester-born Stephanie has been in Hollyoaks on and off for twenty years now.
