Kata before scoring her place on The Voice was working in a Nashville karaoke joint.
She grew up in a trailer park in Oklahoma.
Showing support: Kata's family and girlfriend cheered her on along with host Carson Daly
‘I hope she gets big so he can pay me back,’ joked her father, who had extended their trailers for Kata’s benefit.
After her performance Kata admitted that her girlfriend wasn’t thrilled about her smooch with the mega star.
‘I got in a little bit of trouble…but it was totally worth it,’ she grinned.
Eyes covered: Carson covered the eyes of Kata's girlfriend while she kissed Christina
The performance was part of The Voice’s second round of blind auditions in the 10th season of the hit NBC show.
The first artist of the night was amusement park heir Joe Vivona, 27, from New Jersey.
‘Sometimes I’ll perform at a fair,’ said Joe, who suffers from severe stage fright.
Feeling nervous: Joe Vivona overcame his nerves and got all the guys to turn before choosing Pharrell
His rendition of Dreaming With A Broken Heart by John Mayer caused all three men to turn and Joe chose Pharrell.
‘I like that jacket you’re wearing…and your freaky fun hair,’ commented Blake Shelton, 39.
Next was 15-year-old Shalyah Fearing, from Florida, who has a band with her large family.

‘The tables are turning,’ she agreed.
‘Me and Pharrell are getting the really good stuff this season,' she added.
Next was bearded Nashville singer Adam Wakefield, 33, whose brother died from an overdose.
Not surprising: Adam Wakefield took on a country classic and not surprisingly picked Blake
He tried his lungs on Tennessee Whiskey by country music great George Jones.
‘Finally, there’s going to be a manly Adam on this show,’ quipped Blake.
‘Pick me because I want you more,’ said Adam, but the contestant chose Blake.

Blake said she has ‘a completely new sound’ while Pharrell called it ‘breathtaking’.
Four chairs: Emily Keener got all four chairs to turn with her stirring take on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
‘Pure passion,’ agreed Christina.

The 24-year-old, from Georgia, was brought up on Dolly Parton, shaping her love of country music.

Adam was gunning hard for Angie: ‘I’m going to fight as hard as I can,’ he said as Blake shot him daggers.
Big score: Blake was thrilled to land Angie on his team
Unsurprisingly, Angie went with Team Blake.
Florida man Theron Early taught himself to play piano, but his music hasn't paid enough to cover the bills.
‘It’s time to become a man,’ said the 21-year-old Miami resident.
Nice try: Theron Early gave it his all but failed to get a chair to turn
No one however turned to his version of Amazed by Lone Star.
