Car crash show? Jeremy Clarkson reveals wreckage from accident as he continues to film new motoring series in Barbados

He's hoping to repair his reputation and resurrect his television career following his fall from grace over the infamous 'fracas' with a BBC producer last year.

But Jeremy Clarkson's new show has hit a bump in the road, literally, as he revealed he'd had 'a bit of an accident' during filming in Barbados.

The disgraced Top Gear presenter shared visual evidence of the car wreckage on Twitter on Wednesday after having being involved in a collision on the set of his Amazon Prime motoring series.

The image in question showed a mangled car engine but it was difficult to determine exactly what had happened.

Giving no details away, Jeremy, 55, captioned the photo: 'Had a bit of an accident while filming today.'

The shot shocked his followers and he was inundated with messages of concern but luckily he escaped unhurt and it's unclear which seat he was in during the incident.

'The only thing that matters; are you okay?' one user asked with another inquiring: 'Everyone safe?'

However, some of Jeremy's cheekier followers couldn't resist the opportunity to have a pop at him with one referencing the infamous fracas which involved him losing his temper over the catering set-up during a shoot in March last year.

'Was there no hot food?' they wrote while another remarked: 'Have you been hurt or injured in an accident at work that wasn't your fault?'

Co-host Richard Hammond added: 'Two words for you: Dingle. Berry.'

Jeremy has teamed up with former Top Gear presenters Richard and James May for a new as yet unnamed motoring programme which has a mammoth budget of £160 million.

Snippets of scenes have shown the head presenter trying his hand at all variety of water sport activities.

An onlooker told the Mirror: 'It looks more like the world’s wildest stag party than a TV show.

'They’ve got a huge budget and they are obviously enjoying spending it – the whole thing was pretty bonkers. They had cars being pulled out of the water, hover boards, jet skis, the works. It was like a lads holiday - they’re obviously enjoying every minute of it.'

It's not yet known when the show will be available for viewing.
