A dwarf claims that he 'fears for his life' after two men broke into his home, kidnapped him, and demanded he drive them to a cash machine.

Martin Henderson was slapped awake by the thugs at his home in Milborne Port, Somerset, in the middle of the night.

The 41-year-old, who is 4ft 2ins tall and suffers from spinal stenosis, drove them towards a bank in Sherborne, Dorset, in his specially-adapted Ford Galaxy car.

But he managed to escape when he sped off with the doors still open as the pair got out of the car near the bank.

Mr Henderson drove to the nearest police station to report his ordeal.

It is thought a cash dispute sparked the attack and although the two suspects are known to Mr Henderson, he believes his height made him a soft target.

He is now too scared to return to his home in Milborne Port, Somerset.

He said: 'They were big guys and it was a really awful experience. They didn't have any weapons but they were quite rough with their fists. I thought my life was over.

'I think they saw me as an easy target because I couldn't fight back and they knew that they could get more money out of me.

'Since it happened I've been staying with friends.'

It is not the first time Martin, who once appeared alongside Warwick Davis in a Sky One production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, has been the victim of an assault due to his height.

In 2011 he suffered serious back and leg injuries when a drunken yob picked him up and dropped him on the ground outside a pub.

He became an unlikely viral hit after Games Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage ended his Golden Globes acceptance speech with a mention of the name Martin Henderson, and the suggestion to 'Google him'.

Millions did, and within minutes Mr Henderson was a trending topic on Twitter. Those who searched him online found the horrific story.

The incident put an end to his acting career and he was left needing crutches and a wheelchair for longer journeys.

Mr Henderson said of the latest incident: 'I went to bed and the next thing I knew I was woken up with a slap and a man held me down on the bed.

'I started to panic, wondering who it was. He dragged me out to the hallway where another man was waiting.

'One of them had searched round my house and stole my phone and some aftershave. Then they demanded I take them to a cash machine.

'They made me drive, but I had gone about five minutes down the road when I stopped.

'The man in the back got out and when the one in the passenger seat opened his door and put his legs out I just hit the accelerator.

'He fell out of the car and luckily the door shut behind him so I locked the car and drove straight to the police station.

'It's really lucky it shut so I could lock it, I don't know what would have happened otherwise.

'I've lived in my house for six years but I don't want to go back now. I can't sleep there anymore.'

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed two men, aged 35 and 25, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been released on bail.

The spokesman said: 'We aren't treating this as a random incident and believe the victim and the offenders were known to each other.'
