Tourist films his wife in underground river and accidentally creates a mind-boggling visual effect… but can you tell how he did it?

  • Mesmerising footage was shot in underground river cave in Mexico
  • Appears to show female swimmer doing a headstand on surface of water
  • She then moves around as if she is floating above the surface

For all intents and purposes, the woman in this video is defying logic as she floats above the surface of the water and even does headstands.

The footage - shot in an underground cave in Mexico - looks miraculous.

And it's also hypnotic. But all is not what it seems.

No matter how much head-tilting you do, it's almost impossible to explain the strange movements

The whole scene is actually the result of an innocent mistake.

Her husband decided to film the swim at the cenote in north America for a digital holiday album - but he held the camera upside down.

However, many will argue that the footage produced is arguably more interesting than what was originally planned.

However, the trick was an accident - the woman's husband was holding the camera upside down
