He usually maintains a reserved demeanor in public and rarely cracks a smile.

But Kanye West seemed downright moody as he took pride of place in the FROW at the Balmain show during Paris Fashion Week on Thursday, looking every inch like a grumpy teenager.

The 38-year-old rapper, joined by his mother-in-law Kris Jenner, cut a surly figure as he waited for the Autumn/Winter 2016 presentation to start, hunched over in his seat.

Clad in a grey hooded top and extreme ripped jeans, Kanye looked more like he was waiting for a bus than attending a high fashion event.

The hip-hop guru added a touch of designer bling to his ensemble thanks to a pearl-encrusted bomber jacket.

Kanye and Kris were in attendance to support Kendall Jenner as she strutted down the runway alongside a host of famous models.

Downcast: Kanye, who was also joined on the front row by designer Virgil Abloh, peered out from underneath his jumper and kept his eyes glued to the floor

After years of looking downcast in public, Kanye explained in 2015 why he chooses not to smile - because it doesn't look as 'cool'.

'Back when I was working on Yeezus, I saw this book from the 1800s and it was velvet-covered with brass and everything', he told E!.

'I looked at all these people's photos and they look so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren't smiling...

Meanwhile, Kris recently opened up about Kanye's recent, uncensored Twitter rants, which have included the Stronger hitmaker claiming to be $53m in debt and also lashed out at the Grammys and Taylor Swift.

She said during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show: 'There have been days where there should be a no tweeting law and I feel like I will ground him.'
