Chrysler 200 to be Lancia Flavia in Europe image

According to Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne, Fiat will rebrand and relaunch the new Chrysler 200 sedan and convertible in Europe as the Lancia Flavia.

Moreover, at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show where Fiat will present the new Flavia, Lancia brand will unveil bunch of new cars including the much anticipated Ypsilon subcompact.

“The new Chrysler 200 will come – cabriolet included – to Europe as a Lancia, and Flavia is a very good hint as its possible name,” Marchionne said.

The model is expected to revive the Flavia nameplate last seen in 1975 and receive only a few modifications, in the form of a new grille (natch), European-spec bumpers and the possible mechanical additions of a manual transmission and diesel engine.

The Lancia Flavia is slated to hit the market during the first half of 2012.
