Britney Spears' new lover will not be able to marry his famous girlfriend - because his estranged wife claims he is still married to her.

Photographer Adnan Ghalib, who grew up in Birmingham, wants to wed the Toxic singer - but now faces a legal battle with ex AzLynn Berry, 28.

Model and beautician AzLynn has kept silent on the subject of the very public relationship between her husband and the pop singer until yesterday when she spoke on US television.

She told the Access Hollywood show: "The only way he'll marry her is over my dead body.

"We were living together as man and wife when he started romancing Britney.

"I believed he was purely working and was trying to win her confidence for a photoshoot."

However, as rumours of the relationship grew, Adnan was thrown out of the pair's home and AzLynn also left, going into hiding with her parents in the Los Angeles suburb of Encino.

AzLynn said: "It has been reported that ours was a marriage of convenience to help him get his green card (US work and residency permit) but that's simply not true.

"He's broken my heart and I haven't stopped crying for two weeks.

"But he's living on the same fantasy planet as her if they think they'll be walking down the aisle any time soon."

Afghan-born Adnan, 35, has told friends of his desire to marry Britney, 26, but failed to tell anyone that his marriage to AzLynn was still legally-binding.

AzLynn said: "She's as much a mug as I was if she says she believes him when he says he loves her.

"I know Adnan has a reputation as a womaniser but he's a handsome guy and American girls love his English accent.

"He has a way that can make a girl feel like a million dollars. But Britney should be careful."

The star's cousin and former personal assistant also had a warning for her.

Alli Sims said: "I do not think Adnan is a good person. He only has bad intentions. I wish he would go away."

Latest reports suggest the photographer has moved into Britney's Beverly Hills mansion and has said he wants to help take care of her children Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one.

The boys are in the care of their father Kevin Federline who was granted temporary custody.

The court ruling followed a bizarre siege two weeks ago at Britney's home where she appeared to be holding her children hostage.
