Von Miller says Peyton Manning is his favourite quarterback and that he will buy him a beer after the Denver Broncos’ victory at Levi’s Stadium.

Miller, the Super Bowl MVP after a dominating display which saw two-and-a-half sacks, two forced fumbles and six tackles, was part of a fearsome pass rush which terrorised Cam Newton all game.

The Broncos, who recorded seven total sacks, began to stifle Newton early in the first quarter with Miller’s strip sack leading to their first touchdown.

‘Of course 18 is my No 1 quarterback,’ Miller said. ‘I love everything about him, from the way he handles the media, the way he handles his team-mates and his brothers.

'It’s defnitely something that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life. To watch him lead and to watch him be the leader that everybody knows that he is has definitely been great for me.’

Miller also paid tribute to Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips after the popular coach won his first Super Bowl after a lifetime of nearly misses.

‘Coach Phillips did an amazing job,' Miller added. 'He always likes to say that mistakes are on him, but the Super Bowl is on him too. I really appreciate everything he’s done for the whole team, not just the defense.’

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera paid tribute to the destructive Miller. ‘Well we have to look at ways to stop him. I do believe we play the NFC West next season, so we’re going to have to get that answered. He played a heck of a football game. I believe he was the MVP and deservedly so. Played a heck of a football game. He deserves to be the Super Bowl MVP.'
