What is YOUR state binge-watching? Map reveals which TV shows are most popular to stream everywhere in the US, from Heroes in Utah to Pretty Little Liars in Hawaii

  • Many states favor shows that are set there, with Oregon residents loving Portlandia and New Jersey residents watching Boardwalk Empire
  • Weeds is the most popular show to binge in Colorado, where recreational marijuana use is legal
  • People in Nebraska still favor Cheers, which mostly ran in the 1980s

Americans are known for their home state pride, and it seems that even in their TV binge-watching habits, residents of the good 'ol US of A are fiercely loyal to wear they come from.

A new infographic map created by HomeSnacks.com reveals just which TV shows are the most popular to stream in each state, and it seems that a lot of shows are more beloved in the states in which they're set.

Because Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon don't actually release their viewing statistics, the site turned to Google Trends to figure out which shows were the most buzz-worthy — and most binge-worthy —from Oregon to Florida.

Teens rule! In Hawaii, Freeform (formerly ABC Family) hit Pretty Little Liars is most popular

Midwest must-watch: The heavily-Mormon state of Utah loves the supernatural show Heroes

That local pride spans across the country, with people in the West, Midwest, South, and Northeast all diving in to fictional versions of where they live.

Oregon resides love IFC's Portlandia, set in the state's capital of Portland, while people in Pennsylvania can't get enough of FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The most bingeable show in Tennessee is, naturally, Nashville, while resident of Maryland choose to tune in to House of Cards — which is set in nearby Washington, D.C.

Breaking Bad, which takes place in Albuquerque, is the most popular show to stream in New Mexico, True Blood is still a hit in its home state of Louisiana, Boardwalk Empire thrills the people of New Jersey, and Illinois goes crazy for Shameless, which is set in Chicago.

Then, there's a slightly different kind of loyalty. People in Colorado, where recreational marijuana use was legalized in 2012, seem to find it's a fun Saturday afternoon to light up and watch a few episodes of the Showtime hit Weeds.

There are also a handful of surprises. The only show found to be the most popular in two different states is the FX comedy Terriers (in Washington and Maine), while the largely Mormon state of Utah loves the supernatural NBC hit Heroes.

In Florida, the most binge-worthy show is a Spanish-language one: Grand Hotel (or Gran Hotel), which ran from 2011 to 2013 in Spanish-speaking countries.

And while it's common knowledge that several shows that have been off the air for years have found renewed popularity on Netflix, it might come as a shock that some of them are actually the most popular in certain states.

Looking for familiar spots: People in Tennessee love ABC's Nashville (pictured), while Illinois residents prefer Shameless, which is set in Chiacago

Surprise! The FX show Terriers is the only program to be most popular in two states: Washington and Maine

People in Kentucky seem to be binge-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) the most, Alaska natives dig their Star Trek (though that might include the original series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise), and residents of Georgia are still sitting down and enjoying The Bernie Mac Show (2001-2006).

The most old-school state is Nebraska, which still counts Cheers (1982-1993) as its favorite for long sessions on the couch.

On the flip side, there are obviously plenty of young people using streaming services, and they drive numbers, too. Pretty Little Liars is the most-binged show in Hawaii, and The CW's Reign reigns supreme in Alabama.
