Donald Trump's decision to skip the Conservative Political Action Conference so he can campaign ahead of Super Saturday has some thinking that recent comments made about the presidential front-runner by Mitt Romney may have put a bump in his road to the nomination. Trump was scheduled to speak at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the annual gathering of conservative activists in suburban Maryland, but has changed his plans and decided instead to campaign in Kansas in Florida. The three other remaining GOP presidential contenders are still slated to attend. Meanwhile Trump spent Friday campaigning in New Orleans with his son Donald Trump Jr. where he drew his usual share of protesters, including one woman who carried a sign that read; 'Your Hate Is Killing People.'

Jerry Springer said Donald Trump and Marco Rubio were acting more like schoolchildren than presidential candidates during their 'small hands' row at the GOP debate. The talkshow host said the Republican hopefuls' behavior could have seen them end up on his show. During Thursday's GOP debate, Trump hit out at Rubio for mocking the size of his hands. 'Look at those hands. Are they small hands?,' Trump asked. 'And he referred to my hands, if they are small, something else must be small. I guarantee you there is no problem.'

The bobcat stumbled upon the two men, decked out in camouflage and armed with rifles, on a walk. A minute-long staredown ensued, with neither predator or prey making a move. The bobcat then took a step back, but quickly turned his head to check on the hunters twice more before he finally walked away. And the hunters in turn let him leave, without firing a single shot.

The LAPD turned down the opportunity to examine the knife found on OJ Simpson's old property 15-years ago and told the retired officer who found it the case was closed. The officer, who has been identified by his lawyer as George Maycott, 70, (pictured left) then kept it in a toolbox until he eventually handed it over for tests on February 10. The LAPD said that Maycott, who retired in 1998, came into possession of the weapon in around 2002 or 2003 when he was working security on a movie set down the street from Simpson's demolished home. 'The story, as it's told to us by the retired officer that we recieved it from,' said Capt. Andrew Neiman of the LAPD, was that (Maycott) 'was working in the area of the Rockingham estate and he claimed that an individual gave him the knife'.

Lara Dewees (pictured), 27, of Pasco Country, was fatally injured at an event in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, last month. Her horse, Genny (right), fell, causing Dewees to drop the reins. Genny then headed towards the arena's exit gate after circling the barrels. The horse was wearing special shoes made to walk on dust specifically. Genny exited the area and slipped on the ground. Dewees, who couldn't grab the reins again, flew over Genny's head and landed on her face. Doctors believe she died of a blood clot. Dewees, a cancer survivor who planned to marry the father of her 18-month-old son, got her first horse when she was three and began riding before she could walk.

A fit of road rage in Fontana, California was caught on video on Tuesday by witness Jonathan Martinez in a nearby car. After being pulled from his car, a passenger of the vehicle begins to fight back and is later joined by the female driver in his car who kicks the instigator numerous times. The fight came to a screeching halt after two men showed up to break it up.

On Wednesday, temperatures in Toronto dropped to 6.8F (-14C) when residents heard the howls of a dog left outside on the 16th-floor balcony of a high-rise condo building on East Liberty. The white, medium-sized dog had been outside for 45 minutes when it was captured in a photo on the balcony, which was posted to a Facebook group just before 5pm. Eventually, a police officer was flagged down outside the building and investigated the incident before getting into the unit with the building manager. They were able to bring the dog inside.

Karen Cometa-Zempel, 60, (left) and Diane DiProspero Cook, 53, (right) were both put up for adoption shortly after they were born. After 53 years apart, they learned they were related this month. They received a letter from New York's adoption registry with each others' names, and realized they had already crossed paths. Cometa-Zempel taught DiProspero Cook in a business preparation class at Bryant and Stratton College in 1985. The 53-year-old the NY Post: 'She was warm, kind and charismatic. During a recent deep-sea dive in the Hawaiian Archipelago, a remotely operated vehicle came across an unknown creature. Unlike most cephalopods, the little octopus found by the NOAA Deep Discoverer lacks pigment, making it ghostlike and mysterious, and every bit adorable. At more than 4,000 meters below the surface, this is the deepest observation ever published of this type of cephalopod, and researchers say its cartoonish appearance has social media users pushing to name it 'Casper.'

A man was pulled naked by a rope through the streets of a Buenos Aires barrio after being allegedly caught in the act of raping an eight-year-old girl. He was then handed over to the police as locals continue to shout abuse at him. There is no news yet as to what action the authorities will take against the man or what evidence locals had to humiliate him as they did.

Residents of San Fermin, Veracruz state, woke up to discover the Atoyac River, which flows through eight municipalities and provides water for 10,000, had vanished into a 30m long crevasse. It is unclear how much of the river was affected by the suspected sinkhole. Locals reported hearing a loud noise and then felt the earth trembling beneath them during the night. Local officials said in a statement: 'These cracks open in the land and continue to open and create more cracks.'

A man has been charged with trying to sneak a Brazilian man into the United States from Mexico by hiding him in the gasoline tank of an SUV, who was discovered early Tuesday at a crossing in Calexico, California. Customs and Border Protection said an imaging device spotted anomalies in the SUV's gas tank and under the back seats. The officers continued searching the area before discovering the man hidden inside the partially modified gas tank.

The police stopped 23-year-old Adam Burton and French national Eric Xavier Mariec, 28, while they were still naked at the ancient site, which re-opened this week after maintenance work. They were arrested on the spot and police later released the images from a mobile phone, showing the two men posing in body-builder stances with no clothes on. The men were prosecuted for offences against morality, according to state news agency Andina, and the photos were released to warn other tourists against lewd behaviour at the ancient site.

San Diego couple Paul and Pamela Mott have been suiting up their dogs to protect them from coyotes after their beloved Buffy was taken by one in a park - and now they have turned it into a business. 'I'm not going to stay at home and be terrified (of predators),' Mr Mott told ABC 10 News . 'I just wanted to save my dogs, and then I realized maybe this can save someone else's dog.'
