Look out below! Bathrobe-clad Jennifer Garner teeters on the edge of a cliff while filming scenes for her new movie

The movie is understood to follow a suburban mother going insane.

And Jennifer Garner seemed to be embracing the part, as she flailed around and looked to be in danger of falling off a cliff while filming scenes for her next movie, The Tribes of Palos Verdes, on Thursday.

For the scene, the 43-year-old actress was not exactly dressed to impress, and sported a pink bathrobe over a flannel top, tan turtleneck and grey sweatpants on the bottom.

Initially, she showed up with a pair of binoculars, though she quickly became agitated after seeing something. 

It then looked as though she was trying to signal people at the base of the cliff, before unexpectedly making her way even closer to the edge.

As it turns out, she was targeting what appeared to be a metal lawn ornament, which she proceeded to break.

Later, co-stars Stevie Lynn Jones, 20, and Cody Fern, 29, were spotted shooting what looked to be the other half of the scene.

The mother-of-three attended the Academy Awards on Sunday, where she was presenting, and she looked incredible in a dramatic black gown.

It marked Jennifer's first Oscars appearance since she split from husband of 10 years Ben Affleck in June of last year.

The former couple were both at the Vanity Fair after-party later in the evening, and while they appeared to be having a frosty encounter outside the venue, they apparently got on just fine inside.
