Backstage baby! Nicole Trunfio's 13-month-old son Zion tries his hand at guitar as the model joins fiance Gary Clark Jr on tour

They say that spending too much time apart can rip a relationship to pieces.

So to ensure that doesn't happen to her family, Nicole Trunfio has joined fiancé Gary Clark Jr. on tour - and brought along baby Zion, too.

The 29-year-old beauty is seen playing with her 13-month-old toddler on the tour bus in a touching black and white snap shared on Instagram on Friday.

The time on the road looks to have been educational for Zion, who was also pictured playing with one of Gary's guitars, indicating that the little tyke could follow in his father's footsteps.

Dressed in a pair of denim dungarees with a horse-print scarf tied around his neck, the youngster is seen trying to imitate his dad's strumming technique.

Gary's mostly sold-out tour comes just weeks after the 32-year-old performed a soulful tribute to late blues legend B.B. King at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

Glamorous Nicole marked the occasion by penning a gushing post to her soon-to-be husband on social media.

Taking to the stage with country star Chris Stapleton, 37, and blues legend Bonnie Raitt, 66, the Texas-born songwriter performed a cover version of B.B. King's famous song The Thrill Is Gone.

Originally written by West Coast blues singer Roy Hawkins, the track later become a major hit for B.B. King in 1970, and is considered his signature song.
