The horrific moment a McDonald’s employee fell into a bucket of boiling oil, causing severe burns to her arms and legs, has been caught on a store security camera.

Shocking CCTV footage shows Angela Buza, who is a manager at a store southeast of Melbourne, walking by the deep fryer on November 12 when she slips and knocks over the blue bucket filled with 160C oil, according toThe Herald Sun.

The young employee is seen walking past the bucket before falling almost on top of the bucket, causing it to splash onto her hands and legs.

She then begins to squirm and writhe in pain as her fellow employee Luke Haywood checks on her wellbeing.

Holding her hands out in front of her, Ms Buza scrunches her face as she quickly dashes out of the kitchen and out of the sight of the camera.

Just moments before Ms Buza fell to the ground in pain, Mr Haywood is seen pouring the extremely hot oil – oil burns at above 200C – into open buckets sitting in the main walkway of the restaurant.

Although employees are supposed to drain the oil using a specialized caddie pump, Mr Haywood believed the pump was broken and used the buckets as a replacement.

Ms Buza said in the two months prior to the incidents, she had also used an open bucket to remove the oil on several occasions.

A magistrate’s court fined the fast food chain $45,000 on Friday for the incident.

Besides the horrible pain, Ms Buza told the magistrate’s court this week that she had to have skin grafts on her arms and legs and became socially withdrawn after the accident.

‘The incident took away my independence as I became reliant on others,’ she said in a victim impact statement.

‘Due to becoming withdrawn, I lost friends.’
