She is usually seen in glamorous outfits on the red carpet.

But, even when she's enjoying a rare day off, Hollywood actress Mena Suvari manages to showcase an enviable figure - as she did on Friday.

The blonde beauty, 37, boasted a slim silhouette during an exercise session in downtown LA.

Dressed for her latest work-out, the US actress looked fantastic as she stepped out in a long, black camisole top and matching leggings.

Deftly displaying her toned figure, she also scraped her hair back into a taut bun to ensure maximum output from her gym visit.

Going make-up free, the acclaimed performer also clutched a health-conscious smoothie.

Cutting a dash as she arrived at the downtown LA venue, onlookers would surely have been impressed  by her appearance - not least because she looks years younger than her actual age. 

Boasting smooth, line-free skin, she was hardly any different from her break-out role in the Academy Award-winning American Beauty.

Mena portrayed cheerleader Angela Hayes in the 1999 drama , which also starred Kevin Spacey.

Angela was the obsession of Spacey's character, Lester Burnham, who fantasized about her surrounded in rose petals - an infamous cinematic moment.

Not that she hasn't embarked on other projects since then, of course. Mena has since returned to television in the horror series South Of Hell. Her character, Maria Abascal, is a demon hunter for hire, but she also has a demon named Abigail inside her body.

She previously was on the small screen with a recurring role in Six Feet Under as well as seven episodes of Chicago Fire.
