Toni Braxton bares her belly in ultra-sheer cut-out mermaid gown at BET Honors in Washington, D.C.

Toni Braxton bared her belly at the BET Honors taking place at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. on Saturday evening.

The 48-year-old R&B belter donned a dramatic, ultra-sheer cut-out mermaid gown and she sported a center-parted updo for the ceremony airing March 14.

The seven-time Grammy winner later changed into a silver-fringed mini-dress onstage for her musical performance.

Toni will next appear in the fifth season of her reality series Braxton Family Values premiering later this year on WE tv.

The Broadway thespian executive-produced her own Lifetime movie-of-the-week, Unbreak My Heart, which amassed 3.6M viewers for its January 23 premiere.

The awards show honouring African-Americans made sure to fete R&B icon Patti LaBelle, who looked vibrant in scarlet trousers and a billowy shawl featuring magenta lining.

Two-time Oscar nominee Lee Daniels - who was also being honoured - suited up in a classic tuxedo, while Grammy winner Janelle Monáe opted for a velvet two-piece and a necktie.
