Guy Ritchie treats wife Jacqui and their three children to a Mother's Day bike ride... but Rocco is nowhere to be seen as Madonna concedes defeat in custody fight

He's been mired in a battle of wills with his ex-wife Madonna over which parent their teenage son Rocco will live with.

But Guy Ritchie appeared to have put aside the conundrum for one day as he treated his second wife Jacqui and their three children to a bike ride on Mothering Sunday.

The 47-year-old director and his model wife, 34, were spotted out and about on their bikes in London with their three young children Rafael, Levi and Rivka, however, Rocco, 15, was nowhere to be seen.

Heading out in the brisk and cold weather to spend some quality time with their young brood, the couple were sure to wrap up against the sleet and rain that hit the capital.

And it appears that the simple and quaint excursion certainly put a smile on his wife's face, as Jacqui shared a snap on Instagram of herself along side her children: sons Rafael and Levie, respectively four and two, and daughter Rivka, three.

She captioned the snap, which appears to have been taken by Guy: 'A Mother's Day bike ride in the park. Happy Mother's Day to every single Mummy out there. Love you, Mum.'

Pictured in the middle of the ride in one of London's many parks, the stunning model can be seen wrapped up in a quilted mid-length parka jacket, jeans, and boots.

And proving that she's equally as stylish in her downtime, the model opted for a seasonally practical yet chic woolly hat - which held her long blonde locks in place - and fingerless gloves.

Guy opted for his usual retro gent twist on fashion and donned a camel sheerling jacket, dark trouser and black leather shoes for the excursion.

He made sure to lead by example in the battle against the spring chill; by wearing a pair of black leather gloves and a cream knitted beanie.

And while the Ritchie clan appeared to enjoy their outing immensely, Rocco - Guy's eldest natural son - appeared to have given the trip a miss.

However its perhaps unsurprising that Rocco avoided heading outdoors, as reports filtered through on Sunday that his mother, Madonna, had conceded defeat to Guy over which parent he would reside with.

The Mail on Sunday revealed that the 57-year-old pop star has told her friends that she has 'lost the battle' after finally admitting her son does not want to live with her.

The news came after she broke down on stage during the New Zealand leg of her Rebel Heart tour on Friday, emotionally professing love for her son to the crowd.

The mother-of-four burst into tears on the Auckland stage as she told fans: 'There is no love stronger than a mother for her son.

'If I talk about him too much I might cry.'

She then dedicated her song La Vie en Rose to him and said: 'I hope he hears this somewhere and knows how much I miss him.'

The face-off started in December when Rocco left his mother's world tour to fly to Britain to stay with his father, with Rocco then refusing to return to the US for Christmas - despite a court order.

And with Rocco refusing to acknowledge his mother's many pleas and demands for him to return to the US, the teenager has stayed in England, where he has been frequently spotted enjoying time alone with his father.

However it appears that Madonna has accepted she is fighting a losing battle, telling friends that she will let her son stay in Britain.

But she is said to be 'utterly bereft' at the prospect and, as part of the peace deal, she is demanding a series of assurances that she'll retain some parental influence over her only natural son.

Last week, as a fresh legal bid was launched at the Family Division of London's High Court, a judge urged the couple to settle their differences out of court.

One of the singer's closest friends last night conceded: 'The fact is Madonna has now accepted Rocco isn't coming home and that his home is now with his dad. Rocco wants to be with his dad but she won't give up being his mother.

'She won't stop fighting to try to make sure Rocco is kept safe and has what he needs. She can't understand why it has come to this. Her world has been shattered.'

The temporary truce comes after weeks of stalemate negotiations between lawyers for Madonna, Ritchie and their son (who was represented by a lawyer at meetings as well).
