The short black and white film was produced by the monarch herself in 1949 and 1950 and entitled Prince Charles at Home
In it, the then Princess Elizabeth can be seen using a set of numbered bricks to encourage her son to walk
As he reaches out for the blocks, his mother gently moves the tray further away to entice him to take more steps across the drawing room at Clarence House
The accompanying message read: 'Today, we’re sharing this video of The Queen and The Prince of Wales having fun at home in 1949. Happy Mother’s Day.'
The short clip, produced by the monarch herself and entitled Prince Charles at Home, was shown to her guests at a reception for the British Film Industry in April 2013.
During the video, which is 50 seconds long, the Queen can be seen enticing the young prince to take steps across the drawing room with a set of numbered bricks on a tray.
He falls down as he reaches out for the blocks, before trying to grab them again.

Smiling at his mother as he toddles across the carpet, the young prince then plays with the blocks after he takes a tumble and the Queen places them on the floor in front of him
The black and white film then cuts to a scene outside, in which the young prince is seen walking out of the house entrance wearing long socks and a cute coat, before turning back to see his mother smiling and waving out of the window.
In a further clip, the Queen is sitting on the sofa with a book laid out on her lap while giggling as she playfully tickles and cuddles her young son, who has also has a beaming smile.
Clarence House also shared an adorable photo on its Instagram page, showing the Queen with her arm around Prince Charles as she reads him a book.

Snippets of the clips were first shown as part of the Queen’s Christmas Day broadcast in 2008 as a tribute to her son and heir, who turned 60 that year.
In the speech, she spoke about the 'blessing, comfort and support' she and Prince Philip gained from their family in the 'special year' for their son.
She added: 'Sixty years ago, he was baptised here in the music room at Buckingham Palace.
'As parents and grandparents, we feel great pride in seeing our family make their own unique contributions to society.
The Prince of Wales rolls around in delight and at one point buries his head in a cushion
This touching photo was shared on the Clarence House Instagram page after the video was released on Twitter
'Through his charities, The Prince of Wales has worked to support young people and other causes for the benefit of the wider community, and now his sons are following in his footsteps.'
The video was also featured in a BBC documentary broadcast in 2012 called A Jubilee Tribute to the Queen by the Prince of Wales.
In it, the Prince, who is seen watching the footage, said: 'My Mama takes great pride in her family, from being a young mother at the start of her reign, to now being a great grandmother twice over.'
The footage, which was first uploaded to The British Monarchy's YouTube channel in 2013, is understood to form part of the Royal Family's own personal archive which is kept in the vaults of the British Film Institute.
