Paris Saint-Germain's annual social media jousting match with Chelsea has intensified once again with little more than 48 hours left before the two clubs meet in the Champions League.

The Twitter mind games have become a tradition in recent seasons, with PSG routinely poking fun in their Premier League opponents' direction prior to big European encounters between the teams.

Now, the runaway Ligue 1 leaders have taken to mocking up movie posters with images of their superstar squad ahead of the last-16 second leg clash at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Unsurprisingly - given his personal inclination to stoking fires - Zlatan Ibrahimovic is at the heart of the fun once again.

Two years ago, the Swede tweeted a picture of his own face with the caption 'why would we fear the Special One's team when we have the Only One?'.

This time around, Ibrahimovic is presented as the 'Parisian Sniper' in a rip-off of the promotional poster for Clint Eastwood's 2014 biopic 'American Sniper'.

The striker, who scored the first goal in PSG's 2-1 victory in the first leg at Parc Des Princes, is pictured above the tagline 'the most lethal scorer in Parisian history'.

Also presented as stars of the silver screen are Javier Pastore in 'Flaco Unchained', Marco Verratti as 'The Artist' and goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in 'The Last Stand'

PSG's photoshopping has triggered a viral response from fans, with dozens sending their own efforts of varying quality.

Previously, the French club have taken to social media to hit back at accusations from Jose Mourinho that they 'parked the bus' against the Blues and also used their own elimination from the Champions League to mock political Eurosceptics.

On Wednesday, one of the two sides will exit Europe for good.

Neither PSG nor Ibrahimovic are likely to go down without a snipe.
