A man who claims to have dated Melania Trump before she moved to America and met her presidential hopeful husband is speaking out about the first time they met.

Jure Zorcic tells ABC News that he met Melania Knavs when she was around 21 years old and the two dated for several months before her modeling career kicked off.

Zorcic, who has been described as a businessman and sports manager, recently took reporters to the very street where he met Melania and spoke about the moment as like being 'in a movie'.

He was riding his Vespa down the street in Sevnica, Slovenia in 1991 when he passed a beautiful woman in 'the most fashionable' all-leather outfit who turned his head.

'I was on my motorbike, and she has been walking down a street. As I passed by her, I had a moment and thought, "Wow, who is this girl? She is so beautiful, I must turn back and follow her."' Zorcic recalled.

He says he pulled his motorbike over and then chatted up Melania, before taking her to get a coffee.

'I was impressed by her beauty from the very first moment. She was very nicely dressed, and her behavior was classy. She was tall, had long hair across her face - I could hardly see her eyes - such style!' he said.

Zorcic says he then dated Melania for several months, spending many summer days by the sea in Croatia with friends.

She was never the typical Slovenian girl, but I'm sure nobody believed 20 years ago that she would live at the top of the world, on Fifth Avenue in Trump Tower - even her!

But their romance was cut short when Melania hit it big as a model and fulfilled her dream of living abroad in Paris and Milan.

'She wanted to live abroad, in Italy, France, a life of fashion,' Zorcic said. 'She was very fashionable.'

While their time together was short, Zorcic has only fond memories of Melania and says she even met with him when he visited New York once in 2000.

In another interview with a Slovenian blog in August, Zorcic described the meeting, saying Melania was much changed from their youth.

'She sat a few feet away with her bodyguards, and it looked like she had some cosmetic work done.

'When we were together she didn't have a big chest, now she has enormous boobs...It was obvious she had some nice operations. Anyway, she is still very pretty

By then, Melania had already been dating Donald Trump for a few years.

'I think her marriage to Trump was fate,' Zorcic added. 'She was never the typical Slovenian girl, but I'm sure nobody believed 20 years ago that she would live at the top of the world, on Fifth Avenue in Trump Tower - even her!'

However, a spokesman for Donald Trump says Zorcic's story 'is fiction'.

'This is yet another person trying to use Mrs Trump's name for publicity. The facts are not accurate,' Trump's spokeswoman Hope Hicks told Daily Mail Online.

And Zorcic has been accused in the past of not being truthful.

According to a 2011 news article in Slovenian tabloid Slovenske Novice, Zorcic was accused of embezzling 14,000 euros from employees at Slovenian media company Pink, where he worked as a TV journalist. It's unclear whether the accusations were proven.
