Helen Mirren knows how to make an entrance.

The 70-year-old star left Stephen Colbert stunned and speechless after greeting him with a kiss on The Late Show Tuesday night.

The Oscar winner walked out on stage and as the talk show host went to shake hands, she put one arm around his head and pulled him in for a sexy smacker right on the lips.

What a way to say hello: The star of The Queen pulled the host close and planted a warm kiss right on his lips

She then jauntily continued on to take her seat leaving Colbert standing and lost for words.

It took him a little time to regain his composure before joining Mirren at his desk.

'If I didn't do it then, I'd never get to do it,' the star of The Queen explained to a still stunned Colbert.

'I have been dreaming of doing that for 15 years, so I just grabbed my chance. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.'

No words: Colbert was speechless as he mopped his brow after the intimate encounter

Wow factor: A flustered Mirren told Colbert she'd been dreaming of kissing him for 15 years and just 'grabbed my chance'

'I suddenly can't remember any questions,' Colbert replied, as the audience laughed.

'That is one of the nicest greetings any guest has ever given me,' he told the actress. 'Wow! You know what you're doing.'

Colbert went on: 'Can you imagine the number of people who are jealous of me right now?'

'Including me, when I watch it. I'll be going, why didn't I do more?' Mirren saucily responded.

'The night is young Dame Helen,' the Late Show host said flirtatiously.

The Late Show host was clearly having a fabulous time as the pair drank tea from flower-patterned china

The pair then went on to have a cup of tea together as they chatted.

But the chemistry between the two wasn't quite done with.

At the end of the interview, Colbert grabbed hold of Mirren's hands and gave her a steamy smooch goodbye.

Mirren, who's married to director Taylor Hackford, wore a stylish black dress for her TV appearance at Manhattan's Ed Sullivan Theater.

The outfit featured three-quarter length sleeves and a hemline that stopped just below her knees.

She added black leather heels with peep toes and black tights.
