'Believe in yourself': Reigning champion Bindi Irwin surprises new DWTS cast as she offers advice with the help of her snake Bruce

She dazzled crowds and won the hearts of millions after she was crowned the queen of Dancing With The Stars last year.

And while fans of the American show were introduced to the new lineup, Bindi Irwin was on hand to offer her successors some words of advice – with the help of her beloved snake Bruce.

Appearing on Tuesday's Good Morning America via video link, the 17-year-old said: ‘Honestly, I think it’s just important for you to believe in yourself.

‘So round yourself with people who support you, your friends and family. I preferred to have a few snakes surround me. But honestly, just believe in yourself and you’ll be able to accomplish anything.’

The daughter of the late Steve Irwin - who was partnered up with five-time champion Derek Hough - also told the contestants to ‘cherish every single moment’.

‘I think every week I was nervous for Monday night because you want to try your absolute best,’ she explained. ‘But you have to enjoy each little moment and remember that it’s about sharing your story.’

The Season 22 cast, which includes American actress Mischa Barton, Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin and Donald Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples, was unveiled by ABC during the show.

The Australian star later took to her social media sites to share a snap after her appearance.

Alongside the picture, she gushed: ‘Super excited for everyone about to embark on the most beautiful journey with Season 22 of#DWTS.

‘Glad I could join you all on the@goodmorningamerica cast announcement. My best advice - believe in yourself and enjoy every moment, stay true to you. Love and light always.’

Bindi and Derek amazed U.S. judges with their consistently fluid routines, and in return they received continuous near perfect scores.

But it was her final and teary performance which paid tribute to her father Steve, known globally for his wildlife show 'The Crocodile Hunter', which captivated her own fan following.

He was killed at the age of 44 after he was struck by a stingray barb to the heart in Queensland, Australia, in 2006. 

Meanwhile, other stars competing include, talk show host Geraldo Rivera, GMA’s Ginger Zee, R&B singer Wanya Morris, actress Kim Fields, UFC fighter Paige VanZant and male model Nyle DiMarco as well as NFL stars Antonio Brown, Von Miller and Doug Flutie.

Dancing With The Stars is scheduled to premiere in the US on March 21.
