'One and done': Model Robyn Lawley says no to more children after being diagnosed with potentially fatal auto-immune disease ... but says adoption is an option

Despite relishing every moment of being a first-time mother, Robyn Lawley has emphatically said no to more children after the birth of daughter Ripley, one.

But the model, 26, says that after being diagnosed with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome with SLE lupus - a rare condition where immune cells attack healthy ones - more children are off the cards.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the 6ft Australian said: 'I'm one and done, I am so happy and content… having another one would definitely put my body into freefall but if I really want another one there is always adoption.'

She went on: 'There are always other ways, and I don’t think I would, [have more] I think I'm good.'

Revealing future plans with former basketballer partner Everest Schmidt, she added: 'We are unanimous in that – for us we are both quite young but I have a lot of career ambition and things I want to get done in my life.'

The Sydney-born international beauty insists she will not have any more children after being diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease following childbirth.

The couple's daughter Ripley was born last March and at the time Robyn spoke of her 'extreme love' for first-born telling Daily Mail Australia: 'My grandma died during my pregnancy so Ripley's middle name is Dorothy after her.

'I was really so sad when I lost her because we were so close...Ripley is a joyful reminder of her...'

Weeks after her the Sydney-born beauty was diagnosed with the auto-immune disease and Robyn ruled out more children.

'I didn't want Ripley to grow up without a mum,' the 26-year-old told Marie Claire Australia in the January issue.

Speaking about the health issues she faced after giving birth to her first child in February, the beauty revealed she began losing her vision, before the ability to talk and walk slowly degenerated.

'I’d rather go through childbirth ten times over than the pain I was experiencing,' she said of the excruciating experience.

After spending a week in hospital believing her body was shutting down, she was diagnosed with the condition which can lead to blood clots in both arteries and veins.

Robyn was swiftly put on strong medication, which meant she couldn't breastfeed her newborn daughter with partner Everest which left her 'feeling guilty'.

The disease can also lead to pregnancy-related complications such as miscarriage, stillbirth and premature delivery, which is why she says: 'I won't get pregnant again out of pure fear.

'If I had another attack while I was pregnant, the medicine I'd have to take is so hardcore it'd probably cause health problems for the baby. It's too risky, so I am done.'

Robyn was catapulted into the spotlight in 2006 after appearing in teen magazine, Dolly.

Signed to a modelling agency at 18, she decided to switch to 'plus size' modelling, which increased her workload and appeal.

In 2011, the beauty went on to become the first ever 'plus-size' model in Vogue Australia's 52-year-history, to feature in the magazine's editorial fashion spread.

She then forged an international modelling career, featuring on the cover of Vogue Italia, Elle France and GQ Australia.

She is known for being the first 'plus-size' model to feature among the annual swimsuit issue of Marie Claire.
