Wilford is also the father of April Wexler, played by Tara Reid, who may or may not be on her last Sharknado outing pending the result of a Twitter vote.

When last seen at the end of part three - Oh Hell No! - the 40-year-old was about to be crushed by falling space shuttle debris.

The creators launched a social media campaign asking fans whether #AprilLives or #AprilDies, with the results only being made known with the release of the new sequel.
