Tina Fey has confirmed she is working on bringing a Mean Girls musical to Broadway - but don’t expect to see Lindsay Lohan in it.
The comedy star told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she and husband, composer Jeff Richmond are trying to make the musical adaption of the hit movie happen.
Fey told Cohen that there was no way she would be reprising her role from the movie and would be getting a ‘professional Broadway person’ to play her.

And she shot down Andy’s suggestion that any other original cast members would appear in it.
‘We haven’t finished it yet but its close, yes, pretty close.’
Asked what style the music would be, she said: ‘I think it is more classic Broadway.’
But Fey, 45, joked that they would be waiting until 2027 to launch it.

The 45-year-old said: ‘We haven’t finished it yet but its close, yes, pretty close.’
‘Whenever Hamilton closes, we are going to wait it out,’ she laughed.
Asked what the show stopping tune would be, Tina admitted that was complicating matters.
‘That is one of the things that is most challenging and again we are so far away on it, but it is to figure out where does Act I end, so the ‘ll o’clock number is maybe the girl fight, i don’t know.’
Fey was later asked by a caller what the dirtiest text message she had ever sent was.

Mean Girls is a cult classic that came out in 2004 written by Fey who also played a teacher
‘I am not much of a sexier, I do a lot of filthy drawings. I used to,’ she joked.
Fey revealed that she used to send her co-writer Robert Carlock, who used to work on Friends, pictures of the cast’s heads with her own pornographic drawings underneath.
