David Beckham flashes his pearly whites as he shows off athletic form in black tracksuit teamed with white trainers and a beanie

He hung up his football boots in 2013 after a career which spanned over 20 years.

But as David Beckham stepped out in London on Thursday he proved he's still got it.

Walking the streets of the capital, the 40-year-old did well to show off his athletic form in a tracksuit.

Clutching onto his smartphone, Beckham was as cool as ever in a black Adidas long sleeved top teamed with a pair of slim fitted joggers.

The father-of-four completed his look with a grey beanie and white trainers while sporting his designer beard.

In good spirits, David beamed broadly as he journeyed along with a male companion, who was also dressed in a casual outfit.

David's chirpy outing comes just hours before his global gala auction for UNICEF.

Simply named David Beckham: The Man, it focuses on a stunning collection of photographs of the star, some of which will be signed, and is part of a three-year worldwide programme for the charity.

Excited for the big night, Beckham wrote on Instagram: 'Looking forward to an incredible night tonight at @PhillipsAuction house.

'Hoping to raise important funds in support of my @unicef_uk 7 fund, and @positive_view_ foundation. #PhillipsBSQ #BeckhamTheMan'.

A lot of the works are previously unseen, and include portraits of David by photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Mario Sorrenti, Peter Lindbergh, Sam Taylor-Johnson and Steven Klein.

There will be additional pieces that have been newly-commissioned for the exhibition by the likes of Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Nadav Kander and Tessa Traeger.

David previously said of the new fundraising drive: 'This wonderful project in support of my own 7 Fund at UNICEF and Positive View Foundation will help create change for children and disadvantaged young people around the world.'
