They have been engaged for just over two months, and appears as if the preparations for their upcoming nuptials are well and truly underway.

In new pictures, which have emerged online, it seems Mariah Carey and James Packer's special day could be imminent after the Australian billionaire’s cruiser - one of the world's most luxurious super yachts - has was seen moored next to a harbour in Tahiti.

Last month, Page Six claimed the couple’s wedding day could involve James's ship, called Arctic P, with sources at the time also saying the South Pacific location was top on the destination list.

The lovebirds, whose combined estimated fortune is around $3.4billion USD (AU$4.89billion), are yet to announce an official wedding date.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Mariah and James's representatives for comment.

But since their romance came to light in June last year, Mariah and James have barely been inseparable, enjoying a Mediterranean trip where they sailed around the Balearic Islands on James’ lavish yacht.

Tahiti has been popular with Hollywood A-listers lately, with Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux honeymooning at the destination of Bora Bora last year.

James's pal Miranda Kerr has also visited the destination, and fellow Australian's Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban also chose the idyllic island for their honeymoon in 2006.

Packer, said to be worth $4.7 billion and ranking as Australia's fourth richest man, is known to sail the 287-foot converted icebreaker vessel in the area, which is known for its romance and seclusion.

Meanwhile, Mariah recently revealed to Access Hollywood that she will be having a private - but grand - wedding when she ties the knot with the casino mogul.

The 45-year-old she and her billionaire businessman beau, 48, are looking to keep the wedding a ‘very private’ event without 'tons of people'.

‘I'm most excited about the grandeur, darling,’ the singer confessed, clarifying she is going for quality over quantity.

She added: ‘I think the most important thing is the relationship and, you know, just the connection. The love it of all. That's the most important thing, but of course I love a grand moment.’

Packer popped the question to Mariah on January 21 in New York, giving her a $7million engagement ring.

The marriage will be Mariah's third shot at happiness, having previously spent seven years with Nick Cannon, with whom she has two children, and five years with music executive Tommy Mottola.

James, meanwhile, is also anticipating a third marriage, after his 2013 separation from Erica Packer - who he has three children with - and following his three-year union with Jodhi Meares.
