Paris Jackson shows off her new platinum blonde hair on coffee run with friends as she gears up for her 18th birthday

Paris Jackson was spotted enjoying a low-key outing with friends on Wednesday as she gears up for her milestone 18th birthday.

The daughter of Michael Jackson was seen grabbing an iced coffee at a Starbucks in Malibu, California with two male pals.

Paris was dressed down and showing off her newly platinum blonde crop of hair, which she unveiled last week.

The 17-year-old - who turns 18 on April 3 - was clad in a red and black unbuttoned plaid shirt over a black tank top and rolled-up skinny jeans.

Paris also wore black trainers with the laces untied and a pair of wayfarer sunglasses, and carried a camouflage jacket in case the temperature should drop.

The teen - whose full name is Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson - had chopped off her hair and dyed it bright orange before making the jump to platinum blonde.

When she turns 18, Paris will no longer be under the guardianship of grandmother Katherine and cousin TJ Jackson, as she has been since her father's death in June 2009.

She is the only daughter of the late King of Pop, and has 19-year-old brother Prince Michael and 14-year-old brother 'Blanket' (whose real name is also Prince Michael).

Paris returned to the Jackson family estate in Calabasas a little over a year ago, following a stint at a therapeutic girls' boarding school in Utah - the result of a suicide attempt in 2013.

She recently hit back at critics in an Instagram post and revealed that she has been attending AA meeting.

After sharing an illustration which received hundreds of comments, Paris replied by telling her followers she doesn't appreciate being criticised for not responding to every single person - especially the 'negative' ones.

Paris also said that she refuses to succumb to the same pressure that her father experienced before his death at the age of 50, from cardiac arrest induced by propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication.

In her expletive-laden rant, Paris wrote: 'This is f***ing ridiculous. I am expected to literally sit on my a** all day replying to comments people leave me (positive and negative)? I have AA meetings to go to. Family obligations. PERSONAL obligations.

'It's so f***ing selfish that I am literally attacked on every f***ing thing I post just because people that I DON'T EVEN KNOW aren't getting what they want.

'I don't know any of you. I appreciate the love and support, but the expectations are f***ing ridiculous.'

She added: 'The expectations for my DAD were f***ing ridiculous. He didn't owe you anything, yet he was ripped to shreds DAILY. I will not let that happen to me.'
