Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump won another high-profile endorsement on Friday when retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson became the second former Republican candidate to back him in the race for the White House. An orphaned joey, whose mother was hit by a truck in Western Australia's remote Mid West, has been adopted by a police officer with a passion for animals. Constable Scott Mason, a former paramedic, said the young animal was brought into the Cue Police Station on Wednesday morning after being found in its dead mother's pouch. The young officer said he would have his hands full over the next few months as his wife just gave birth to their first child. Two missing teenage sisters have been found alive after being missing for almost a year in upstate New York. Shaeleen Fitch-Fortner, 14, and Ky-lea Fortner (right), 16 were rescued by police Wednesday from the home of Amanda J. Hellmann (left) in Vestal, New York, Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell told the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin. Hellmann, 29, pleaded not guilty to a felony count of second-degree kidnapping Thursday in court.

However the group could only have hoped to see a 'dolphin stampede', which is when hundreds - sometimes thousands - of dolphins decide as a group to rush wildly across the ocean's surface, as if in a panic. A photographer has captured the unique patterns and colours of hundreds of human eyes in a series of striking macro shots (pictured). Mogan Andrei, 26, began taking photographs of his friends' eyes in his hometown of Cugir in Alba County, Romania, to show the complex beauty of each visual organ. After posting his photographs online, Mr Andrei, a graphic designer, received requests from admirers of his work to travel to the Romanian cities of Sibiu and Timisoara to continue his project.

Jordan Alexander, from Syracuse, New York, took the internet by storm after a photo of her on Splash Mountain emerged of her sitting alone, with her arms crossed looking angry. This is the shocking moment a pet dog splashing in an estuary was ruthlessly eaten by a crocodile lurking underwater. The dog, which appeared to be an Australian Shepherd, was playing in the water (pictured top left) when the crocodile struck, snatching it whole (top right, and bottom left and right). The pet dog was off its lead and running in and out of an estuary at Isimangaliso Wetlands Park in South Africa with another larger dog when it was eaten - to the horror of onlookers who were powerless to prevent it.

A daredevil frog has been captured on camera in Jakarta, Indonesia, hitching a ride on a crocodile's back before perching perilously on its snout and dangling its legs between its razor sharp teeth. Harmony of the Seas, which cost almost £800million to build and weighs 227,000 tonnes, was helped from Saint-Nazaire port by six tug boats this afternoon. Although there's no passengers on board yet the ship, which is nearly 330 foot longer than Titanic, has aboard around 500 crew as its continues its sea trial until Sunday. Even when it was miles away from western France the 210 feet tall ship, with capacity for 6,000 passengers, could still be seen from the shore line as thousands of people gathered to see it on the water for the first time. For months, tourists have been allowed on board to wonder at the luxury interiors of the ship that has 18 decks and stretches to 1,187 feet. Three pilots who have trained on a simulator in nearby Nantes for the past year, helped the captain in the tricky manoeuvres needed to guide the hulking ship out of the Saint-Nazaire estuary.

A video of the humorous episode, which took place at County Louth Golf Club in Baltray, Ireland, showed the curious creature approaching four men on the course. After checking out a tissue on the ground, the fox continued to wander towards a bag of golf clubs and stole a wallet. Like a thief, it then quickly turned around and ran away as the stunned owner jumped to his feet and gave chase.
