Sources close to Kanye West have been forced to deny he is supporting Trump after claims the rapper is backing The Donald.

Both Kanye and his wife Kim have been vocal supporters of Hillary Clinton - even posing for a selfie with the Democrat front runner last year.

But a passenger on the same flight from Paris to Los Angeles as the rapper on Wednesday claimed Kanye was a big fan of the Donald, Page Six reports.

'He's not going to vote for Trump but he supports him,' they told the newspaper site.

Sources close to Grammy Award winner have hit back at the claims as 'totally untrue.'

Support for Republican Trump would be a complete U-turn for Kanye who has publicly backed Hillary's race for president.

Last summer, he donated $2,700 to her campaign, and has previously given $15,000 to the Democratic National Committee.

His views appear to be shared by his wife Kim who matched his donation of the Democrats in 2014 while his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, donated $2,700 to Hillary for America.

Kim, who has described Hillary as 'our next president', posed for a picture with Clinton when they met at a Los Angeles fundraiser in August.

She tweeted the pic, saying: 'I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing (Clinton) speak and hearing her goals for our country. #HillaryforPresident.'

Kris Jenner also snapped a picture with Hillary,and posted the picture on Instagram with the caption: 'An Honor to meet you Hillary Clinton! Great evening... #ohjustchatting'

Correction: It was not long before Kim managed to send out a corrected version of the message on Twitter

Also corrected: Kim had to delete the first selfie to correct it, since the edit function she wants doesn't exist

Kim re-tweeted the picture, which also features Kanye, in January with the caption '#LoveHer' after Clinton appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show where she praised the reality star.

Their support highlights political division within the reality TV family: Caitlyn Jenner has openly declared her support for the Republicans, despite the party's reluctance to support the trans community.

Jenner attacked the Democratic front runner during the opening episode of her latest reality TV show 'I Am Cait'.

The 66-year-old described the possibility of a Clinton presidency as 'unfortunate' while she appeared to show support for Republican Ted Cruz, saying it would be 'great' if he became president.

The former Olympian said: 'If we are unfortunate enough to get Hillary as our next president, we need her on our side. But she won't be. it would be the last place I want to be.
