What a sweet couple! Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart treat her daughter Emme to frozen yoghurt... and can't resist getting some too

They have had an on and off releationship over the years, but Casper Smart is like family to Jennifer Lopez's children.

The pop star, 46, and the backing dancer, 28, took her eight-year-old daughter Emme out for frozen yoghurt in Calabasas, California on Wednesday.

Emme - who was sweetly holding Casper's hand - gratefully tucked into the tub of dessert that she had just been treated to as the group made their way across the car park.

And Jennifer and her toyboy couldn't resist getting a tub each for themselves too.

The American Idol judge was dressed casually for the outing in a baggy white sweater with the words 'love your soul and be happy' printed on it, over a black sports bra.

Jennifer also highlighted her curves with a pair of black leggings, and sported grey and neon yellow trainers.

The singer and actress pulled her caramel tresses into a high ponytail, and went make-up free.

Emme was sporting a similar outfit to her famous mother, in a white tank top, black star-print leggings and pink Converse trainers.

Meanwhile Casper wore an all-black ensemble consisting of a T-shirt, ripped jeans, high-tops and dark glasses.

The couple started dating in October 2011, and rekindled their romance after splitting for several months in 2014.

Casper is currently expanding his acting career, and JLo supported him at the premiere of his new movie The Perfect Match earlier this week.

While promoting the romantic comedy, the rising star said that he is 'not feeling any pressure' to tie the knot with Jennifer, adding to Entertainment Tonight: 'We're happy where we are.'

Jennifer has been married three times before - to Ojan Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony. She was also engaged to Ben Affleck.

The star, who shares twins Max and Emme with Marc, recently revealed that she hasn't ruled out the possibility of marrying again, but it's not a priority for her.

'I need to be happy on my own,' she told InStyle magazine. 'If someone fits into that, great. But if they don't, that's OK too.

'As girls, I think we are taught from a very young age that someone else is going to bring us our happiness. I was waiting for Prince Charming. Everybody I met was going to be the guy I was going to spend my life with.'

J.Lo added: 'And then you realise, "I'm strong I'm my own keeper, my own savior." That's been the journey for me.'

The star is currently on hiatus from her All I Have Las Vegas residency, which resumes on May 22 and runs on and off until the end of the year.

She is also on the judging panel for the final season of American Idol, which concludes on April 7, and starring in TV drama Shades Of Blue. The show was renewed for a second season last month.
