James Corden goofs around in tux and snaps selfies with cops as he films Carpool Karaoke promo

His talk show is usually based in Los Angeles.

But Late Late Show host James Corden decided to mix things up a bit on Friday, as he was spotted shooting in New York City.

The 37-year-old Brit hit the streets around Times Square, apparently filming a promo for his long-running segment Carpool Karaoke.

In the bit, James usually drives around with a celebrity as they sing along to his guest's biggest hits while on the road in Los Angeles.

While no celebrities appeared to be accompanying the late night funnyman on Friday, he didn't let that dampen his spirits.

James donned a handsome tuxedo for the shoot, complete with a black and white striped pocket square.

He quickly produced a smartphone, and proceeded to take several selfies with one of the officer, who appeared to enjoy himself as well.

The duo then appeared to review the photos carefully.

Carpool Karaoke has become a viral staple, with A-list guests including Justin Bieber and Adele.

It's no surprise then that news recently broke that the segment may get it's own full-length show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Corden is tipped to be an executive producer, although he apparently will not be hosting the stand-alone show should it get picked up.
