Newly single Jaimie Alexander armed herself with a M4 carbine assault rifle on the Manhattan set of Blindspot on Friday.

The birthday girl - who turns 32 on Saturday - donned FBI body armour over her head-to-toe black costume to film the NBC action series.

The South Carolina-born, Texan-raised actress later joined her co-star Rob Brown, who plays skeptical FBI Agent Edgar Reade.

During the midseason finale, Jaimie's character Taylor Shaw/Jane Doe discovered she'd wiped her own memory, Total Recall-style.

'This was a shocker,' the Brink beauty told Empire last week.

'The first half of the first season, Jane went primarily by gut instinct and intuition. Now with this new info, she's definitely moved up into her mind and she has the duality that we, everyday people, deal with - which is the mind against the heart.

'That makes for some very complicated situations, and it definitely affects her decision making.'
