Renowned action man Bruce Willis leaves the stunts to the professionals as he films high octane Vodafone advert in NYC

He's illustrious for his ability to portray the action man.

And while Bruce Willis may have swapped the bright lights of Hollywood to film Vodaphone Italia's latest commercial, it doesn't look as though his latest role is going to be any less pulsating.

Filming the high octane advert in New York City, the Die Hard stand-out will once again play the part of hunky hard-man - though the A-lister looked to have recruited some extra help as he was joined on set by a stunt double, who bore a striking resemblance to the star.

Both sharp-suited in tuxedos, the look-a-like looked to have taken care of some of the more dangerous scenes in the commercial, which sees Bruce star as an action hero who pauses shooting to check his phone alongside the movie's director.

The Hollywood heavyweight was seen holding his phone up for inspection before laughing at something on the screen as he sat in a production chair alongside one of his co-stars.

Bruce was also joined on location by a leggy blonde, who was also glamorously clad in a floor-sweeping black dress which boasted a daring thigh-split.

The production comes shortly after it was announced that Bruce is to front the remake of 1974's vigilante classic, Death Wish.

The iconic movie - which was fronted by Once Upon A Time in the West's Charles Bronson - is based on once mild-mannered liberal, New York City architect Paul Kersey who takes the law into his own hands after intruders break into his home, murdering his wife and violently raping his daughter.

According to Variety, Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado will direct the remake, with Bruce set to star as the crime flick's leading man.

The Israeli directing duo helmed the 2013 black comedy Big Bad Wolves,' which was an official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival.

But the movie doesn't mark the only potential blockbuster Bruce has in the pipeline as he recently wrapped up shooting of Marauderers, which follows an untraceable group of elite bank robbers who are chased by a suicidal FBI Agent who uncovers a deeper purpose behind the robbery-homicides.

The production also stars Adrian Grenier and Christopher Meloni.

The action movie favourite has also completed filming Precious Cargo, centred around a crime boss who tries to make off with loot that belongs to another thief.
