Despite reports of financial struggles, Tori Spelling was not letting money concerns get in the way of a big celebration for her son Liam.

The 90210 actress made sure her boy's ninth birthday was one to remember, even if she forgot some party essentials.

The 42-year-old star was seen doing some last minute shopping at a Michaels in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday.

Despite hiring professionals to ensure the party at her Encino home was an unforgettable one, the star decided to grab a few additional supplies herself.

Just a few hours before the party was to begin, Tori made a mad dash to the store grabbing bags and bags full of supplies.

With a trolley full of party goodies, the blonde then headed home to where the event was being set up.

While Tori has recently found herself at the wrong end of a lawsuit over credit card debt, she still organised a lavish bash.

The nine-year-old and his guests were treated to grub from a food truck and the star also hired a mobile arcade so they could play video games.

The big party comes as Tori denied that she and her husband Dean McDermott were suffering financially despite American Express suing her for almost $38,000 in unpaid credit card debt.

The 42-year-old actress told People, they are doing fine and she wished the lawsuit story would go away.

My kids are like, ''It's not fair, why aren't you home more?'' And I explain [things] to them and we talk about money.'
