Olivia Wilde shielded herself with an optimistic rainbow umbrella in the New York City downpour on Monday.

The 32-year-old actress paired her cheery, colourful rain gear with a black bomber jacket, distressed blue jeans, and brown buckled booties.

The SAG Award nominee let her natural beauty shine through and wore her outdated ombré locks down around her shoulders.

Despite the rain, Olivia managed to looked cheerful and sunny in New York today. It could be the giant rainbow umbrella but we think it's the happiness instilled in owning a purse you love. (just us?)

The birthday girl - who turned 32 on Thursday - scored Beyoncé-themed birthday goodies for her soon-to-be two-year-old on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

'[Otis] is absolutely in love with her,' Olivia said of the 34-year-old pop diva.
