New gig: While at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday, Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler discussed her new responsibilities on the children's version of the hit reality competition show
'[SYTYCD: The Next Generation] is going to be so amazing. I'm looking forward to it because I feel like kids are so good these days,' she said.
The young dancer believes that her age will allow her to have a connection with the talent as a helper, verses a person chosen to critique them.
'I feel like since I'm in their shoes I know how to cheer them on. I feel like since I'm their age I can't really tell them what to do, [so] I think I'm gonna be the supportive judge and always [encourage] the kids.'

As for her new stint as a judge, Maddie described her mixed emotions regarding her upcoming adventure.
'It'll be amazing but also kind of nerve-racking because I'm the only kid and I have to be on my best game at all time,' she admitted.
That being said, she isn't second-guessing her ability to join the seasoned adults.
'I definitely have some knowledge now because I've been judged a lot. I think it will be really cool to be with [fellow judges] Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo and Nigel [Lythgoe].
She's come a long way: She first reached recognition starring in Lifetime's Dance Moms, as the current sixth season will be her last
She is no stranger to reality television as she has starred in Lifetime's Dance Moms with her mother Melissa Gisoni.
The programme focuses on the early careers of the children that are enrolled in the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Maddie will soon be leaving the show, however, as the current sixth season will be her last having announced that she will not be signing on for any more seasons of the show.
Sia noticed Maddie on the programme and tweeted her to ask if she would appear in one of her videos, introducing talented Maddie to a far wider audience.
The young star then broke out on the scene as she starred in the 40-year-old Aussie hitmaker's music video for Chandelier, which was released in 2014.
