Free of the battle scars from his world super-bantamweight defeat of Scott Quigg last month, Carl Frampton received his MBE on Tuesday and described his pride at the experience.
The Belfast-born fighter was awarded the gong in the Queen's New Year Honours list but had to wait until this week for the formal presentation, which was conducted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace.
Frampton, 29, received the award for 'services to boxing' having gone 22 fights unbeaten during his professional career and was dressed in a sharp, silver-and-black morning suit to collect his medal from the Duke of Cambridge.

The 29-year-old admitted to being 'very nervous'
Nicknamed 'The Jackal', he became European champion in 2013 and lifted a world title for the first time the following year, beating Kiko Martinez to claim the IBF super-bantamweight crown.
Frampton added to his belt haul with the split decision victory over Quigg in Manchester in February.
He later posted a picture of his MBE on Twitter, summing up his Palace visit with the caption 'a very proud day for me'.
Frampton was watched by his mum Flo, dad Craig and Billy McKee, his coach during his time at Midland Boxing Club in Tiger's Bay.
Afterwards, he admitted to being 'very, very nervous' as he stepped up to collect his award.
'I was very very nervous. I am not usually that nervous,' he told the Belfast Telegraph.
'I like to think I am pretty cool in high-pressured situations, but I haven't felt nerves like that since my wedding day.
'I was worried about saying something wrong or stupid.'
The fighter was brought back to reality when wife Christine, who did not travel to London in order to look after the couple's baby son Rossa, tweeted her husband asking him to hurry up and get home.

She wrote: 'Will you be much longer at the palace? I really need you to pick something up from Argos for me.'

The ex-Sale Sharks winger won 55 caps and scored 100 points for his country, and is widely remembered for having a seemingly legitimate try chalked off in the World Cup final clash with South Africa in 2007.
