Donald Trump (top right) took another step closer to the Republican nomination on Tuesday night with crushing victories in Florida and Illinois, a narrower victory in North Carolina, cementing his GOP front-runner status and knocking Marco Rubio (pictured left) out of the race. In Missouri, the race went down to the wire between Cruz and Trump, with The Donald only 1,726 votes ahead (0.18 per cent) out of 620,000 when counting stopped early on Wednesday. The state was judged too close to call, and the tiny margin of less than one per cent means Cruz could challenge the result if it stands. Florida Sen. Rubio's suspended his White House campaign after surrendering his home state. Ohio Gov. John Kasich (bottom right) won in his home state, offsetting what might otherwise have been a devastating night for the rest of the GOP field.

Many of Syria's most vulnerable child refugees now live in dozens of sprawling encampments including in neighbouring Jordan, which has taken in close to 640,000 migrants. Children in these camps near the northern Jordanian city of Mafraq say they miss their old lives in Syria - especially going to school. The UN agency for children said in a report this week that close to 3 million Syrian children are not in school as a result of the conflict, including some 700,000 refugee children.

A bartender poured alcohol on a flaming glass in a Moscow bar resulting in huge ball of flames engulfing a customer's face. She screams in terror and pain as she runs to the bathroom. The video, now posted to Facebook has now been viewed nearly 11million times with the Internet highly alarmed at the clip. Most pour criticism on the careless bartender as well as the thoughtless man with the straw. Some question whether the spectacle was simply a stunt but others claiming to be special effects experts have refuted that. It is believed the woman is to be paid damages of 2million rubles (nearly £20,000) by the bar following the accident.

A Martian researcher discovered a 30-meter UFO in top-secret Area S4 near Area 51 in 2010 using Google Maps. Scott C. Waring, from UFO Sightings Daily, shares a trick to 'travel back in time' on Google Maps in order to see the large saucer housed in the specially made, 'climate controlled' hanger. The Martian vehicle is near the 'third dry lake left of Area 51' - the exact area an ex-employee claims housed UFOs in 1989. Waring points out circular objects towards the opening of the hanger and suggests the Millennium Falcon is parked underneath.

The footage was captured by a man in Medford in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and purports to show a mysterious T-shaped aircraft coming in and out of the cloud cover. According to the UFO hunters the video captures something the team are not familiar with - an object that has the ability to appear and disappear instantaneously. The narrator of the clip said the sighting completely stopped him in his tracks.

A Chinese family has taken the internet by storm for having an ageless appearance after pictures of them were shared online. Web user sysev7n was cleaning out her father's photographs at their home in Chengdu when she spotted the old snaps (right, main). Compared to a series of photos taken on a recent family holiday (left and inset), the woman noticed that her parents looked like they haven't aged a day. After the images were posted onto Chinese social media Weibo, the family's youthful appearance became an instant hit.

The three-and-a-half minute 'reverse therapy' video of a tomato being 'un-sliced' watched nearly 40,000 times on YouTube. Fans of film claim it is 'relaxing'. It was created by Linas Lakavicius, of Wryfield Lab, in Lithuania. His other projects include kiwis and peppers and he said he has more ideas in the pipeline.
