You say you’re a brew-o-phile? Well, Boulder has over 10 breweries and brewpubs at which to satisfy your yen for all things fermented. We even have several small wineries and a meadery. On this “urban” tour, you get to experience a little of everything. Beginning from our central Boulder starting point, we “hop” on our bikes heading east on the renowned Boulder Creek Path ‘til we reach our first brewery: Twisted Pine Brewery. Here we’ll take a short break in their cozy tasting room to savor some of their very popular beers. If you’re already hungry, they do serve sandwiches and snacks. From here, it’s just a short trek north to the popular, only one of its kind, Redstone Meadery, where you’ll get to experience a unique nectar known as mead, a tasty wine fermented from honey, sans sulfites. If schedule permits, we might be able to take in a short tour to see how the mead-making process goes down. (no pun). Finally, just a few hundred meters up the path, we’ll reach our final, and oldest (first) Craft brewery in Colorado: The Boulder Beer Company. We can observe the beer-making process on a self-guided tour or skip right to the tasting room for… you guessed it, freshly made micro-brew.
WARNING: Due to the obvious laws regarding “riding while impaired”, BABA must enforce a maximum limit on the quantity of brews ingested. We do recommend eating adequately prior to the tour, taking and ingesting snacks along the way, or grab a snack/lunch at one of the breweries. As long as everyone is sober (and accounted for) we’ll get back on the creek path and wind our way back to our starting point, taking in lots of natural beauty along the way. |
