'We're good friends': Ben Affleck reveals he and Jennifer Garner are 'doing their best' for their kids as Ellen skims over their divorce

Ben Affleck has insisted he and ex Jennifer Garner are 'good friends'.

The 43-year-old spoke briefly about his divorce on Wednesday's Ellen.

While she could hardly avoid the elephant in the room, the host was clearly bound by an agreement to spend as little time on the uncomfortable topic as possible.

'So I know it’s been kind of a challenging year, obviously,' she offered. 'And I what I love and I think what everybody loves is that you and Jen are putting the kids first and that we see you with the kids all the time and I think that’s the most important thing and the most important message to send everybody.'

'Absolutely, ya know,' he replied. 'We’re good friends and we’re doing our best and our kids are fabulous and we’re working our best for them.'

After that it was swiftly onto lighter fare: Ben's upcoming role as Bruce Wayne in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Add some oomph to your outfit with a pair of metallic tinged Louboutins

Jennifer Garner is one red hot momma! She's got momista style down pat. It's a mixture of girl next door, comfort and above all a focus on high quality fabrics and finishes.

She's busy being an actress and mom so she needs pieces that work well with each other without being too fussy.

She simply accessorized her carnelian colored outfit with a head turning pair of metallic detailed Christian Louboutin peep toe platforms. By going for a statement making pair of shoes, she draws your attention from head down to her toes.

Sadly her exact pair isn't available online, but the nude version can be purchased at Neiman Marcus with a click to the right.

If you're looking to add a little bit of shine to your step like Jennifer, check out the edit below. These would be knock outs at any parent-teacher conference.

While the actor's split after ten years occurred amid reported trysts with the family nanny, he insisted there was no such on screen shenanigans for Batman with Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.

'She's not really a love interest for my character,' he confirmed... but that was as far as he got before Ellen sprung her tried and tested scare the guest prank.

As the bearded dude dressed as Linda Carter's Wonder Woman sprung out of the fake table, Ben looked genuinely scared; indeed his voice appeared to have climbed a couple of octaves in the aftermath.
