'My relationship is destroyed with you': Kim Richards threatens to leave and lashes out at Kimberly for bringing up her 'health issues' on The Mother/Daughter Experiment

Kim Richards had a huge meltdown and tried to walk off TV’s the Mother/Daughter Experiment after her daughter admitted always fearing she would die.

The reality TV star secretly watched on while daughter Kimberly was confronted with her mother’s fake grave in an experiment to see how she would respond to losing her.

Kim had threatened to walk off the show they second they announced the plan - but then initially had a favorable response when she finally went through with it.

Seeing Kimberly break down at the thought of losing her - and her wanting her troubled mother to ‘stay healthy’ - left Kim in tears and vowing to change her lifestyle which has seen her battling sobriety.

‘I’m sorry for the things that have happened that are maybe not healthy or have put me in a place that has worried you,’ Kim sobbed as she comforted Kimberly at the fake grave. ‘All I can tell you is I’ll do everything I can today to prevent this.’

The show's Dr Debbie seemed thrilled with the emotional breakthrough for the pair, and predicted it would be a key turning point in them being able to rebuild their relationship.

But bizarrely as soon as they got in an SUV to leave, Kim completely flipped out - and it only got worse once they got back to the house.

Walking out: Several times, the 51-year-old threatened to leave and told her daughter to pack her bags

Rather than sad that her daughter had admitted always worrying that her mother would die, Kim suddenly became angry about the fact, raging while in the car: ‘All of a sudden you’re afraid that I’m going to die your whole life.

‘I have a life to continue on with and I’d like to walk down the street with my head held high for once!’

While Kimberly got increasingly upset, stressing that ‘everybody worries about their mom,’ Kim kept getting angrier and insisted: ‘I want to go home.’

‘You’re worried about yourself, yourself, yourself, yourself, yourself. I worry about walking down the goddamn street!’ she yelled at her daughter. 

‘I’ve worried about you since I was a little kid, Mom. So what?’ Kimberly asked, clearly stunned at the attack.

‘I worried about you as a young child, yes, I did. and you know why. Of course I did.’

Understanding: At first, Kim said that she understood and would never want her daughter to feel that way

Back at the house, Kim repeatedly insisted they leave the house to return home - and even claimed that the experiment had destroyed their relationship.

‘I don’t feel like we are what we were. I’m very confused,’ she told her daughter. 

‘Kimberly, I feel like my relationship is destroyed with you. I’m leaving.’

Kimberly - who rushed her finals to be on the show - refused to leave, but admitted on camera: ‘This exercise just stirred up so much emotion with us … and we crumbled.

‘That exercise just shattered everything.’

It took her daughter telling her that everyone was waiting for her at dinner to finally trigger a change in Kim’s mood, with her eventually joining them and even resting her daughter’s head gently on her shoulder.

‘This is way too much of a day,’ she said later.

‘I know where my limit is, and I was there.

‘But I finally realized, “Look, I don’t need to go home to take care of me. I can do it right here.”

‘And I made a commitment to our bond and to each other and to the process of what we’re doing here.’

The meltdown was all the more bizarre given the loving things Kimberly had said at the graveside, insisting her mother was ‘the most important person in my life’ and ‘the world to me.’

’This has been one of my biggest things since I was young. Losing her,’ she had told Dr Debbie.

Kim had initially seemed to completely get it, saying ‘She worries about me, and then last year I had a bump in the road for myself and that gave her something else to worry about. That makes me feel sad.’

Even when Kim’s meltdown was over, and she had decided to stay in the house, her drama was not done for the day.

Natalie Nunn, drinking heavily and making lots of noise in the corridor, thought Kim had mentioned her name and stormed into the bedroom she was in to confront her.

‘One thing we are not gonna do is say — and now I’m getting really f**king irritated — don’t say my name unless I’m in the room! I don’t give a f***!’ she screamed.

Shar Jackson had arguably the worst response to the grave yard, shaking and crying so much she could barely talk as she admitted that she had nightmares every day about losing her children.

But she had an even more bizarre response when asked to name something she thought showed how daughter Cassie takes her for granted.

‘Cassie loved Britney Spears,’ she told the shocked group, referring to ex Kevin Federline’s own pop star ex. ‘And Britney was part of a big thing that hurt my family.’

When she tried to insist that her daughter made her take her to see the pop star, Cassie insisted it was offered up as a gift - telling her: ‘I was 14 - I was over Britney.’

Jessica Canseco had the weirdest response, however, to the grave experiment, saying as daughter Josie walked up: ‘She looks hot at least to my funeral.’

Heidi Montag had the best result, however, with her emotional declarations of love leaving mom Darlene Egelhoff insisting: ‘I don’t think I’ve ever felt so loved in my entire life.’

Courtney Stodden and mom Krista also seemed to have a breakthrough of sorts, with the mom tearful telling her daughter afterwards: ‘I just love you, Courtney, and I never meant to hurt you.’
